Blockage

No one wants to consign my clothes! They haven't even seen them.

Apparently I'm not the only one who's been purging her wardrobe around here. The local consignment stores are full...

"Call me in two weeks."
"Call me in August"
"... in September"

Argh.

  1. that's where, if you don't have a friend that wears your size, you give in and donate them. Goes to a good cause, you get your house back. I know you want money back for them, that's always good, but in the meantime, if you wait, its going to continue to cost you time and space along with the money it cost you when you bought it. and the longer it sits in your house, the more chances you might fish it back out of the pile. (personal experience. Salvation Army is now my very good friend. They even have an after hours dropbox).

  2. Thanks for your comment Joy!
Yes, giving it away certainly has its advantages, like getting it out of the house immediately, with all the satisfaction that brings.
For me, it was easier to take clothes out of my closet with the intention to consign them. I also have a lot of outgoing clothes, including a lot of business clothes.
So, I'm going to give this a try.
I suspect I'll find that the proceeds weren't worth the effort, but I'm curious enough to find out...
Fortunately I haven't been tempted to pull anything out of the piles -- I've actually added more to them!
